GMMHF is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization with a mission to educate, motivate, and make change. With great excitement about new additions to this year’s festival, we continue to deliver educational resources and awareness about the positive effects of cannabis legalization in our State. See how each of us has been essential in making this year’s Great Midwest Hemp Festival possible.

Our 4 Points of Focus
1) EQUITY
Far too many minority groups have suffered from the out-of-date cannabis policies in Wisconsin, and together, we can take steps towards rectifying these damages. Reform of Wisconsin’s hemp & cannabis laws would provide marginalized communities with endless opportunities towards economic prosperity and stimulate our State’s financial systems by creating jobs, expanding state tourism efforts, and providing an abundance of state-wide benefits through the collections of tax revenue.
2) SUSTAINABILITY
Through your support, Wisconsin can take innovative steps towards reducing our carbon footprint on planet Earth. By supporting progressive businesses that promote the use of revolutionary hemp & cannabis products, the State can replace everyday harmful waste such as plastics, building materials, and fuel with hemp alternatives. With your donation, we can promote a healthier tomorrow and sustain a robust environment for future generations through hemp.
3) ADVOCACY
Wisconsin residents have been more blatant in their support for cannabis reform. In 2019, over 76% of Wisconsinites supported medicinal cannabis legalization in statewide voting polls. In November of 2022, three counties and five municipalities, state-wide, readily approved non-binding referenda on legalization of cannabis. An average of 74.7% ballot measures passed. The Great Midwest Hemp Fest, previously known as the Great Midwest Marijuana Harvest Festival, has been advocating for hemp & cannabis reform for 53 years. With 2024 being an election year, a newly overturned Wisconsin Supreme Court, and an unprecedented number of Wisconsinites actively supporting reform, we have a true opportunity to create real change for the first time in 54 years. Your donation of any size can make all the difference.
4) AGRIBUSINESS
For the first half of the 20th century, Wisconsin was a leader in our country’s hemp farming and manufacturing industry. Wisconsin harbored over 7,000 acres of hemp fields, flourishing throughout the state and owned by our local farming families. There were more hemp mills per capita here in the Badger State than any other state in the country. When hemp was outlawed in the 1950’s, our State’s prosperous farming industry was forced to reimagine itself, and families who had been farming hemp for generations had to start over with nothing. A donation of your support would help encourage our farming communities and revitalize our states historical hemp practices in the agriculture industry for future generations.
